Clara W. Pierce is my Grandmother
Elizabeth Henderson Pierce is Clara's cousin via her uncle Dr. George Arthur
Pierce's line. He was a physician in Lebanon Springs, NY and died in 1890 of
pneumonia leaving Elizabeth and her sister Ella orphans (mother Marilla Gates, died in 1884) returning to Pittsfield to
live with their grandparents.
Eva Newton Oatman is Clara's cousin via her Grandfather Pierce's sister's line.
She married Frank Butler (Butler Lumber) and died in 1906 after childbirth.

Lost Battalion.
