Hi Berkshire County/Pittsfield Friends and Former Residents,

This is Jim Shulman writing to ask you to mark your calendars for a big event to be held in Pittsfield.  It will be the kick off fund raiser for the Berkshire Carousel Project.  As most of you know, my wife Jackie and I initiated a family art project to be located in downtown Pittsfield, i.e., building a hand carved classical carousel to be housed in an exhibit hall.  We are excited that the community has gotten involved and at 6:00PM on Saturday, May 3rd, 2008 we (Berkshire Carousel, Inc.) will be doing an evening fundraising event for this nonprofit project entitled the Carouselebration Gala.

This event will be located on the site of the future home of the carousel at South Church and Center Streets (next to the West St. CVS Pharmacy). The Gala will include carousel rides, carving demonstrations, live music, a gourmet meal paired with wines, a fabulous dessert, a silent auction and a celebrity auction.  We are beginning to receive a lot of publicity and some generous donations from sponsors which are big steps to help us initiate the three year project this summer. (See the invite enclosed.)

We would love to have you attend and if not, we appreciate your donation.  The tickets for this event are $50.00 per person and well worth all the benefits we are including.

The Berkshire Carousel Board and families of the Berkshires, thank you much for your support and hope you consider attending.

Our website is www.berkshirecarousel.com  which has more information on both the project and the Gala. On this site you can also see the first carved figure named Obie for the town character that many of you might recall, O.B. Joyful and also the "painted ponies" to be carved that are available for sponsorship.

To make reservations and/or donations for the Carouselebration Gala, please call 413-499-0457 and/or use the following information.
