Louis
Massery P.H.S. Scholarship Fund
Dear Classmate:
The Lou Massery P.H.S. Scholarship Fund was started by the
Class of 1967 to honor the memory of our friend and classmate, Lou Massery, who
died of cancer last December. To date,
47 of our classmates, along with several other friends of Lou’s, have
contributed a total of $16,000 to the fund.
This
letter is to thank you if you have already contributed and to ask for your
support if you have not yet contributed.
Our
goal is to raise $20,000 to endow an annual $1,000 scholarship to be awarded to
a graduating Pittsfield High School senior who was an outstanding student leader -- as Lou was as president of our class. A Pittsfield High School scholarship selection committee will select the
annual scholarship recipient.
Please
join our classmates named below by sending $25, $50, $100, $250, or more for
the Lou Massery P.H.S. Scholarship Fund, payable to: Berkshire Taconic
Community Foundation, 271 Main Street, Suite 3, Great Barrington, MA 01230. Be sure to
write Massery P.H.S. Scholarship Fund on your check. Also, if you’re in touch with classmates
whose names you don’t see below; please contact them to ask them to join you in
supporting the Massery Scholarship.
We
hope to achieve our $20,000 goal by the October 24-26 weekend of our
rescheduled 35th Class Reunion at Eastover Resort. You can help the reunion committee
communicate with you by email by registering for the Yahoo group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PHS1967/
. Our website is at www.phs1968.com/1967
Thank
you.

The Louis
N. Massery scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior of Pittsfield High School who has exhibited the qualities of
leadership and service to his or her class that Lou Massery did throughout his
years at PHS, culminating as class president.
Winners
2007 Bonnie Errichetto
The

emulate.” Her leadership capacity is shown in her election to and service
on the Pittsfield High School Student Council in her senior year. She has
also played a key role in the effective functioning of the school-based restaurant.
